During the recent school holidays, a group of St Augustine鈥檚 College students and staff embarked on an unforgettable cultural and educational journey across China. The China Study Tour was not only a chance to explore some of the country鈥檚 most iconic sites, but also to strengthen our friendship ties with local schools, build language skills, and deepen our understanding of China鈥檚 diverse cultures and traditions. But for the staff, students, and families of St Augustine鈥檚 College, that is exactly what makes the recent election of Pope Leo XIV - formerly Cardinal Robert Prevost OSA - feel so personal. There鈥檚 a kind of wonder in it. 鈥淲e think it鈥檚 pretty cool that a pope has visited our school.鈥� said Phillip H., a Year 6 student who learned the news during morning鈥�

At St Augustine鈥檚 College, our commitment to serving the community is more than just words, it鈥檚 action. Over the past few terms of 2024, some of our senior students stepped up as volunteers at the Women and Children First (W&CF) shelter in Dee Why. This vital non-profit organisation provides support to women and children escaping domestic violence, creating safe spaces where families can rebuild their lives, and have greater opportunities to thrive. On Tuesday 25 October we hosted our 2022 Saints Community Golf Day and Lunch at Cromer Golf Club. 96 players in 24 teams played some great golf and then enjoyed a delicious lunch in the clubhouse. A fun day for everyone while raising some funds for the College. Thanks to all those who played and supported including sponsors and donors.
